I grow up listening to stories of distant worlds (in time and space), always surrounded by mixed cultures and traditions. Therefore, when I had the chance to open my wings, I ended up studying History in Barcelona, where I had my first contact with Ancient Civilizations from the Near East.
After a year I had to move to Florence, where I continued my BA in History. Life had other plans, I met Franca Pecchioli, an Italian Hittitologist. She was and still remains one of the most amazing and inspiring woman I ever met. The way she talked about the Hittites, about their languages, and about cuneiform made me want to go further into this world. So, I decided to mayor in Cuneiform Studies.
Since then, I haven't looked back. I ended up doing a MA in Ancient Near Eastern cultures and languages, focused on Ancient Anatolia and Ancient Mesopotamia. Finally, I worked for 5 years in the Research Training Group 1876 "Early Concepts of Humans and Nature" in Mainz (Germany), while working on my "Altorientalistik" Ph.D. about "Hittite Medicine". I defended my dissertation at the end of 2017.
I moved to California in January of 2018 and since then I had to put Academia on the side because sadly it was not paying the bills. Still, I kept in close contact with the cuneiform world in Europe, working on the publication of my dissertation, and also a couple of projects on the side. I can't wait to go back full time to our beautiful Ancient World.
